Founded by His Holiness Shriguru (Dr.) Majid Paithankar, is dedicated to the conservation, protection, and developmental growth of indigenous cow breeds descended from the ancient Zebu cattle. With a deep-rooted commitment to preserving India’s rich bovine heritage.
The Aashram focuses on safeguarding several rare and valuable breeds, such as Kokan Kapila, Khillar, Kokan Gitta, Gir, Sahiwal, Red Sindhi, Lal Kandhari, Kankrej, Deoni, Dangi, and Tharparkar, among many others.
Shriguru Majid Paithankar, coming from a Muslim family, exemplifies unity and compassion by promoting Gau Seva (service to cows) and championing the principles of Gau Raksha (protection of cows). His work transcends religious boundaries, emphasizing the spiritual and cultural significance of cows in Indian tradition. Under his leadership, Shriguru Gau Aashram has become a symbol of harmony and devotion, where individuals from all walks of life unite for a common cause.
The entire team of volunteers at the Aashram has wholeheartedly dedicated themselves to the conservation, preservation, and protection of these sacred cattle. Through their tireless efforts, they ensure the well-being of the indigenous breeds and advocate for their importance in maintaining ecological balance and rural livelihoods.
